"Chemistry for Art's Sake"
“Chemistry for Art’s Sake” will hopefully inspire the audience to consider applying new, different, and creative perspectives to their future endeavors. This lecture will address the difference between art for chemistry and chemistry for art. The when, why and how Safren began using chemicals to create her art will be discussed and examples of her work on scientific themes will be shown and explained. The lecture will also touch on safety considerations and methodology. The contrast between her permanent public art commissions and her ever-changing and evolving live paintings will also be examined.
