The Dinner and Dialogue Series allows for informal conversations between university students and faculty, staff, or administrators of color over dinner. The purpose of the dinner is to provide an opportunity for students to hear about life experiences, careers, successes and challenges in an intimate setting.
Dr. Hugh A. Wilson is a Professor Emeritus in the department of Political Science at Adelphi University, where he has taught for 35 years. Dr. Wilson was born in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. He emigrated to the Unites States to attend Howard University, a historically black university. In the 1960’s he was a community organizer involved in civil rights and anti-poverty activities.
At Adelphi he was the founder and Director of the Institute for Suburban Studies which existed from 1974-1987. He has also served on national, state and local commissions.
