Individuals that wish to professionally install and maintain alarm systems must earn a relevant license to practice. To obtain a license from the State of New York, an 81-hour course of training is required prior to conducting installation and maintenance activities. In this comprehensive course, you will learn the standards and codes related to alarm installation and complete an extensive curriculum in basic electricity and alarm transmission. Security systems will be covered in great detail including concepts of motion detection, CCTV systems and false alarm prevention.
Our NYS-approved instructor will introduce you to aspects of fire technology with an emphasis on fire alarm systems. Relevant methods of servicing and maintaining alarm systems including testing and troubleshooting processes will be thoroughly examined.
