Global Game Jam is an international event where artists, musicians, writers, designers, and programmers come together to create video games based on a secret theme revealed during this 48-hour event.
Associate Professor Lee Stemkoski in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is pleased to announce that Adelphi University will again be serving as a host site for the event. All areas of expertise are welcome; no prior game development experience is necessary.
The game jam is collaborative, not competitive; it is designed to foster ties between individuals interested in game development.
The event begins at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 20, and continues throughout the weekend, until 5:00 on Sunday, January 22, in the Gallagher Lab on the second floor of Swirbul Library. There will be 24-hour access to the lab for participants during this time, who may come and go as they wish during the jam. This is a free event, but space is limited and registration is required.
