President and CEO of Alcott HR
The Robert B. Willumstad School of Business welcomes Adelphi alum Lou Basso, President and CEO of Alcott HR, to provide a guest lecture entitled, “High Touch and High Tech: A Look at Human Resources as a Strategic Partner”. Mr. Basso will discuss why human resources has moved out of the back office and into the executive office and explain how a professional employer organization (PEO) can be a strategic partner to small- and mid-sized businesses. All are welcome.
Advice to students: ”Employers want people who will work at something like it is their own.”
Mr. Basso co-founded The Alcott Group in 1986, reacting to changes he and his partner saw in the administration of human resources and benefits management. At the time, Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) were just beginning to impact small business administration. Today the PEO industry, thanks in part to Mr. Basso’s leadership, has grown to a $50 billion industry which provides outsourced human resources management services to almost 100,000 small to mid-sized businesses.Presented by the Robert B.
