Narratives of Climate Change: Science and Fiction in Conversation

Event

Participants in this roundtable will discuss how Americans tell, listen to, and argue over narratives about our changing climate, and how scientists and literary artists approach this complex and fraught storytelling challenge.

Narratives of Climate Change: Science and Fiction in Conversation will feature Ken Kalfus, acclaimed fiction writer, Ivan Hyatt, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Chemistry, and Beth Christensen, Ph.D., Professor and Director of Environmental Studies Program.

The conversation will be moderated by Creative Writing program alumnus Matt Massaia M.F.A. ’18.

Open to the University and the public.

This event is offered by the Soapbox Series, a multidisciplinary roundtable forum created by the Department of English to explore issues related to freedom of speech.
