Cancer and Careers, founded in 2001, is a national nonprofit organization that empowers and educates people with cancer to thrive in their workplace, by providing expert advice, interactive tools and educational events. Cancer and Careers reaches nearly 300,000 people per year online, in print, and in person with services that include a comprehensive website, free publications in English and Spanish, legal and insurance information, career coaching, resume review and national events and speaking engagements for employers with cancer and their healthcare providers, employers and coworkers. The 6th annual National Conference on Work & Cancer will be held Friday, June 17, 2016, at The Graduate Center at CUNY, in New York City. The free, daylong event explores the issues faced by working people who are trying to balance their cancer treatment & recovery with employment.
The conference is open to patients, survivors, healthcare professionals, caregivers, employers and anyone else touched by cancer.
