The Robert B. Willumstad School of Business Executive-in-Residence Program brings executives to campus to talk about the challenges, awards, and current issues facing their organizations.


Peter Giacalone, UniTek Global ServicesPeter Giacalone is the Chairman of UniTek Global Services, a provider of engineering, construction management and installation fulfillment services to companies specializing in the telecommunications, broadband cable, wireless, two-way radio, transportation, public safety and satellite industries. UniTek is NASDAQ listed and trades under the symbol UNTK. He has over 25 years of operating experience in media and communications and has had executive roles at DIRECTV, The News Corporation LTD and 180 Connect, Inc., a publicly-traded outsourced infrastructure services provider that was acquired by UniTek Global Services in 2008. Mr. Giacalone has significant experience in finance, business development, acquisitions and integration.

At 180 Connect, Mr. Giacalone was credited with the company’s financial turnaround through the execution of several initiatives, including process reengineering, revenue diversification, margin improvement, financial restructure and the development of business intelligence tools driving responsibility and accountability.

At DIRECTV, Mr. Giacalone was the Executive Vice President of Customer Satisfaction where he oversaw call center operations, home services and fulfillment and supply chain management.

At The News Corporation LTD, he was the Vice President of Finance and participated in every facet of the Company’s financial operations, including; mergers and acquisitions, strategic development, capital market financings, business development, financial analysis, internal and external reporting and investor relations. Mr. Giacalone has his MBA and BA from Adelphi University.
