Adelphi University has been chosen as an official drug take-back site. The Take-Back Drug Day is open to the community.
This National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is offered to provide the public with an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by properly disposing of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs; no questions asked. The proper disposal of drugs also prevents them from becoming an environmental hazard in our water.
In the event you cannot drop off on Saturday, Public Safety has a box set-up for your convenience on Friday, April 29 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. The early drop-off location will be located in the Office of Public Safety and Transportation in the lower level of Levermore Hall. This event is a collaboration by Adelphi’s Student Counseling Center, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) program and Department of Public Safety with disposal handled by Nassau County Police Department and the DEA.
