Stephanie Beck lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, where she creates drawings, prints and cut-paper sculpture and stages public art interventions. Her work explores ideas of architecture, urban spaces, classification and mapping. She has a Master of Fine Arts from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from the University of Virginia.
Stephanie has participated in residencies in Fort Collins, Colorado and Istanbul, Turkey and has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in New York, Philadelphia, Dayton, and Baltimore. Her solo exhibitions include the Philadelphia International Airport in 2010 and Rebekah Templeton Contemporary Art, Philadelphia, in 2009. Selected group exhibitions include the CUE Foundation in New York, the Woodmere Art Museum, Gallery Joe, and Fleisher Ollman Gallery in Philadelphia, Wright University in Dayton, Ohio, and Paperworks Gallery in Baltimore.
Stephanie received a Joan Mitchell Foundation MFA Grant in 2007 and was nominated to apply for the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation Grant in 2009.
