The HealthNets conference is a professional development event that promotes the exchange of ideas in teaching and research among health educators assisting our new and seasoned health educators to stay current and innovative in their practices.
HealthNets was started in the fall of 1997 by Dr. Monica Homer and Professor Mary Barrese as an informal gathering of health educators at the local, state and national level to discuss teaching strategies, skill based education, comprehensive health education and explore advances in health studies. After four years of small meetings, it was decided to provide an annual conference which meets professional development needs for in service health educators and CHES/MCHES participants.
This year, four out of the six presenters are Adelphi alumni from the Health Studies Department and we are so proud that our past students are presenting.
The two general sessions are on current topics: Don’t Press Send: Social Media Responsibility and Classroom Discussion Enhancement: How to Get the Most from Your Students in Class.
