Beethoven Piano Trio in B-flat Major, Op. 11
Brahms Piano Trio No. 3 in C minor, Op. 101
Brahms Piano Quartet in A Major, Op. 26
(with guest violist Hsin-Yun Huang)
We are pleased to welcome back the popular Trio Solisti for its 11th year as ensemble-in-residence. Maria Bachmann, Alexis Pia Gerlach and Adam Neiman return with a beautiful evening of chamber music by Beethoven and Brahms. The program opens with Beethoven’s Piano Trio in B-flat Major (the “Gassenhauer Trio”), which he originally composed to feature the clarinet (due to its popularity at the time) but later adapted for the violin. This is followed by a performance of Brahms’ Piano Trio No. 3 in C Minor, a powerful work in the composer’s late, concise style. The concert concludes with Brahms’ Piano Quartet No. 2 in A Major, in which the Trio will be joined by award-winning violist Hsin-Yun Huang, currently a faculty member at The Juilliard School.
Trio Solisti will return on Saturday, February 20, 2016 with a program featuring Beethoven’s Trio in C Minor, Op. 1, No. 3, Babajanian’s Trio in F# minor and Arensky’s Trio No 1 in D Minor.
