Ronaldo Johnson states: "The paintings I am bringing to Adelphi are gathered up, both physically and psychically, from where I live. The fixed and fluid, the visible and invisible, interpenetrate. The door between inner and outer weather is always open. In the blink of a photograph memory is blanked and in the surges and patterns of open painting memory is released. In this tension a pulse comes forth that, when felt, subjects the quiet viewer to a thoughtless pleasure some might call beauty."
Tom McAnulty, Associate Professor of Art at Adelphi, says, "...the work is so realized in itself that all issues dim in the art of looking....in the enjoyment of seeing the work of a painter in such total control of his medium that he is willing to let it go and find it again in the gesture. These are moving works that affirm the solitary search of a painter free to explore, create, and, more importantly, remember."
