Adelphi University is pleased to present "Adelphi Authors and Artists: An Exhibition of Scholarly and Artistic Works" in its New York galleries. The exhibit will be on view from September 5, 2002, at the Swirbul Library Gallery on the principal campus (South Avenue, Garden City) and will run until December 20.
The Swirbul Gallery will host an exhibition of works published or created by the Adelphi community since October 2000; these will include scholarly monographs, edited anthologies, articles in journals or collected works, creative writing and published translations by students. Art works, musical scores, plays, and dance notations that have been performed since that time are also represented, and will be donated for permanent addition to the Libraries' Special Collections under Professor Elayne Gardstein when the exhibition closes in December.
There will be a reception at the University Center Gallery on Thursday September 26 at 4:30 PM. Gallery hours for the exhibit are Monday through Saturday (8:00 AM to 7:00 PM) For more information about either exhibit, please contact Richard Vaux in the Department of Art and Art History at 516.877.4460.
