Adelphi University Hosts World-Renowned Musicians
Trio Solisti, Ensemble-in-Residence, Presents Concert Series

Adelphi University is proud to present an inaugural concert series by Trio Solisti, ensemble-in-residence. Trio Solisti brings together three of the most sought after artists of their generation, violinist Maria Bachmann, cellist Alexis Pia Gerlach, and pianist Jon Klibonoff. The fall concerts will be held October 14 and November 11 in the Ruth S. Harley University Center Ballroom at 8:00 PM. The concerts are free and open to the public. The Trio will perform two concerts this fall and one concert in the spring.

In addition to the concert series, the trio will advise the music department's students and staff and Music Director Maria Bachmann will teach violin in her role as adjunct professor at Adelphi. Hailed by The New York Times as "a violinist of soul and patrician refinement," Maria Bachmann has been a featured soloist around the world.
Paul Moravec, Adelphi University Music Department Chair and composer, states: "We are thrilled and honored to welcome the Trio Solisti as Adelphi University's ensemble-in-residence for 2002-2003. We invite everyone in the University and Long Island communities to join this world-class ensemble for a series of exciting concerts at the University Center."
In the 2002-2003 season, the Trio continues to be presented by the Morgan Library in New York City in a six part concert series entitled "A Brahms Celebration". The series will include the world premiere of "Tempest Fantasy" by Paul Moravec with guest clarinetist David Krakauer. Other concerts this season include the La Jolla Revelle Series, Milwaukee Symphony's Pabst Series, Troy Chromatic Concerts, The Rockefeller University Series in New York, Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York and the Norfolk, Grand Canyon, and Cooperstown Festivals.
Students of music at Adelphi undertake a comprehensive education that prepares them for a range of artistic enterprises, including scholarship, graduate study, and professional careers in education, performance, composition, of music-business. Performance experience is gained through instrumental or vocal lessons; participation in orchestra, choral, or chamber music groups, and participation in musicals, recitals, Broadway reviews, and staged music/theatre works.
