Adelphi University to Honor Joseph A. Gregori at Fourteenth Annual Golf Classic
Student Athletic Scholarships benefit event to take place at the Cherry Valley Club

Adelphi University is pleased to announce its fourteenth Annual Golf Classic to benefit Student Athletic Scholarships, to take place at the Cherry Valley Club in Garden City, New York. The event will feature the presentation of the 2002 President's Award for Outstanding Achievement and Friendship by Adelphi President Robert A. Scott to university alumnus Joseph A. Gregori, Chief Executive Officer of Infohighway Communications Corporation, an integrated communications provider offering voice, data, and end-to-end communications services to small to medium-sized business customers.
The Adelphi University Golf Classic attracts a range of Long Island's most prominent businesses as tournament sponsors. Seventy-two golfers have signed up for the morning shotgun start and one hundred-and-forty-four for the afternoon tee-off, and all will join President Scott for dinner and the presentation of the sixth President's Award for Outstanding Achievement and Friendship at the Cherry Valley Club afterwards
Mr. Gregori, a CPA, is an honors graduate of Adelphi University and began his professional career in public accounting and was employed in the audit division of Deloitte & Touche. Mr. Gregori joined MCI Wireless as President when that company acquired Nationwide Cellular Service, Inc. (NCS ) in 1995. During his eight years with NCS, Mr. Gregori implemented Nationwide's corporate strategy by negotiating and integrating numerous acquisitions to augment the company's strong internal growth
At NCS, Mr. Gregori, first as Chief Operating Officer and then as President, played the leading role in building NCS into the largest non-facilities based provider of cellular service in the country, with offices in ten major markets, revenues in excess of $250 million, over five hundred employees and over four hundred thousand subscribers.
