Adelphi University Names Jack Chen New Chief Information Officer
Chen's goal is to create a solid technology infrastructure and expand on it to enhance life at Adelphi

Jack Chen has been appointed Chief Information Officer at Adelphi University. Chen most recently served as Director of Administrative Computing and Network Services with Barnard College of Columbia University.

Chen states: "I am excited to join Adelphi because the University is growing under the leadership of President Scott. My goal is to create a solid technology infrastructure and to expand on it to enhance teaching, learning, student life, faculty development and administrative services."

Prior to joining Barnard, Chen held various IT management positions with the City University of New York (CUNY) and worked as a system software engineer for NCR Corporation and Senior Database Administrator for Manufacturers Hanover Bank in the early 1980s.

At Adelphi, Chen will oversee the Office of Information Technology and Resources and provide leadership for instructional, multimedia, and distance education technology, administrative computing, desktop support, user training, Web support, and the networking/telecommunications infrastructure.

A resident of Dix Hills, he holds a BA degree from Hunter College.
