Adelphi University Receives Grant From NY State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse
Grant will fund scholarships for New York City police officers

Dr. Alissa Mallow, School of Social Work, has received a grant from the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASAS), which will fund scholarships for New York City police officers to enroll in Adelphi's Addiction Specialist Certificate Program.
The OASAS grant is for $60,000, with $50,000 going to 10 students who are New York City police officers. Each student will receive a $5000 scholarship to the Addiction Specialist Program, a two year program that leads to NYS certification as Addiction Specialists. This post masters program prepares professionals to work with clients with alcohol/substance abuse problems.
