Khidhir Hamza is the author of Saddam's Bomb Maker: The Terrifying Inside Story of the Iraqi Nuclear and Biological Weapons Agenda. This work focuses on Hamza's role as the designer of Saddam's atomic bomb. In 1994, Hamza defected to the United States after a daring escape over the mountains that took him through Turkey, Libya, Tunisia, and Hungary, where he was able to contact the American Embassy. The CIA arranged for his family's escape the following year. Miraculously, he is the only close adviser of Saddam to have lived to tell his amazing story.

Saddam's Bomb Maker explores territory to which his previous media appearances with The New York Times, 60 Minutes II, NBC Nightly News, Frontline, and NPR's All Things Considered only alluded. Saddam's Bomb Maker is a multi-faceted book that describes not only the building of a nuclear weapon program from scratch, but also an up-close and personal account of the Iraqi strongman and his inner circle. Khidhir Hamza knew Saddam and lived in the Presidential compound in Baghdad for several years.

Based on his personal experience, Hamza has no doubt that Saddam will continue to build his weapons of mass destruction and will use them against others if his regime is threatened. Through his writing and lectures, Khidhir Hamza wishes to present the truth of the heinous activities happening under Saddam Hussein's presidency.
