Adelphi University's Derner Institute and the Division of Student Affairs, along with the Eating Disorder Council of Long Island are pleased to sponsor a conference on current approaches to eating disorders. Professionals working in educational, administration, and clinical setting, along with the interested public concerned by the prevalence of eating disorders in our society are encouraged to attend the conference.
The Keynote address "The Healing Power Of Discovering Your Story" will be given by Judith Ruskay Rabinor at 9:15 am. Judith Ruskay Rabinor, Ph.D., is a clinical professor at the Derner Institute, Adelphi University and Director of the American Easting Disorders Center of Long Island. Author of the newly published, A Starving Madness: Tales of Hunger, Hope, and Healing in Psychotherapy (Gurze, 2002). Dr. Rabinor has lectured at numerous national and international conferences, co-hosted a weekly radio show, and has appeared on Oprah, Sally Jessie Rafael, and other television shows.
Participants will break off into small discussion groups at 10:45 am. Topics include the following:
