Adelphi University Hosts Outstanding Long Island Students in Junior Science and Humanities Symposium

On Friday, February 28, 2002, Adelphi University will be hosting the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) for Long Island in the Ruth S. Harley University Center. Beginning at 9:00 AM, there will be presentations by approximately 100 outstanding high school students in biology, chemistry, physics, math/computer science, earth science, psychology, and education/sociology, with full participation by the Adelphi faculty.
There will be judging in ten disciplines from 8:15 to 11:45 AM and from 1:00 to 3:30 PM the winning papers from each of the 10 sections will be presented again in the University Center Ballroom, so that they may be heard by all judges, students and media.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Rob DeSalle, Curator of the American Museum of Natural History, who will speak on "Welcome to Your Genome" from 12:15 to12:45 in the University Center Ballroom.
