Margaret Mckinnickinnic's artist statement:
My prints are little visions. Finding an image by accident and being led to the next image describes how I work. This transformation process involves layering, shifting, shapes over shapes, color and line over color, covering, erasing---a lot goes on here.
I become the person with a divining rod, walking along and all of a sudden the stick vibrates, the pursuit begins, a story develops, connections evolve, adding on, blocking out. I never know when to stop. There always seems to be another revelation, or an idea just appears, provoking a thought, a glimpse of something or a correction, ending I hope, in a momentary "stay of confusion". (Robert Frost) Because there are innumerable things beyond the range of human understanding, we constantly use symbolic terms to represent concepts that we cannot define or fully comprehend." (Carl Jung from his "Man and Dreams")
