Eliot Spitzer to Address Class of 2003 at Adelphi University's 107th Commencement
Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and two other distinguished guests will receive honorary degrees from Adelphi University at this year's Commencement ceremonies

Garden City, NY

President Robert A. Scott has announced that New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer will deliver the annual commencement address as Adelphi University graduates the class of 2003 on Sunday, May 18, 2003 at 9:30 AM. The occasion marks the 107th commencement ceremony of the university. Spitzer, who was recently keynote speaker at the "Our Children at Risk II" public health symposium at Adelphi, will receive an honorary law doctorate. Honorary Degrees will also be given to Carmen de Lavallade, the choreographer and model, and Donald Everett Axinn, the writer,aviator and developer.
Eliot Spitzer became the state's 63rd Attorney General on January 1, 1999. Since that time, he has advanced initiatives to make New York a national leader in investor protection, environmental stewardship, labor rights, personal privacy, public safety, and criminal law enforcement.
On the morning of May 18, Adelphi students will receive their bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees from Adelphi's seven schools: The College of Arts and Sciences, The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The School of Business, The School of Education, The School of Nursing, The School of Social Work, and The Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. (Students in Adelphi's Honors College will receive their degrees from the schools in which they took their majors.)
Students will receive their individual degrees in separate school ceremonies later in the afternoon.
