International Visiting Scholar To Speak At Adelphi University on October 7, 2003
Adelphi University Hosts Senior Visiting Scholar Dr. Pentzopoulou-Valala from the University of Thessaloniki, Greece

Adelphi University's Student History Society will host Senior Visiting Scholar Dr. Pentzopoulou-Valala from the University of Thessaloniki, Greece, for a series of lectures sponsored by the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation (USA). This distinguished international scholar of philosophy, will present a public lecture on "Aristotle on Democracy" on Tuesday, October 7th, 2003 at 7:30 PM in Adelphi's Ruth S. Harley University Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
In addition to with her public lecture, Dr. Theresa Pentzopoulou-Valala will address six of Adelphi's School of Business and the College of Arts and Sciences classes. Her lectures will include "Humanistic Values as Ethical Values," "The Skeptics' Beliefs and Everyday Life," and "The Philosophical Postulates in Aristotelian Ethics." Dr. Valala is Professor Emerita of Philosophy in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and she has received many prestigious awards including the Chevalier de l'ordre du Merite National (France) and the Prize Woman of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, Greece.
