Adelphi University President Dr. Robert A. Scott has won the Outstanding Paper accolade from the Emerald Literati Club for "The University as a Moral Force," published in the 2003 volume of Emerald Publishing's On the Horizon journal.
Dr. Scott joins prominent academics from around the world recognized for author and editor excellence by leading international publisher, Emerald. "The Emerald Literati Awards are presented for papers that convey a new thought or concept in an excellent way to its audience as Dr. Robert A. Scott's paper did in On the Horizon," said Niki Haunch, head of author relations for Emerald.
In the paper, Dr. Scott writes, "In a time of ethical lapses and moral ambiguity, it is essential for the university, the source of preparation for managers, scientists, journalists, teachers, and other professionals, to understand its role as a moral force in preparing graduates for decision making."
