Adelphi University Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Second Annual Latino Dinner Dance

As part of its celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Adelphi University Multicultural Alumni Chapter will hold its second annual Latino Dinner Dance, an evening to benefit student scholarships, on October 1, 2005, at 5:30 PM in Adelphi's Ruth S. Harley University Center Ballroom, 1 South Avenue, Garden City , NY . During the evening, the University will honor four Long Island Hispanic leaders and a community service organization for their commitment to the region and the University.

Public Servant of the Year Award:
Honorable Mark A. Bonilla, Town Clerk of Hempstead
Business Leader of the Year:
Dr. Carlos Aviles, founder of the Centro Servicio Medicos Hispanos
Distinguished Alumna Award:
Angelina Martinez '90, M.S.W. '92, Co-Founder, Secretary, and Treasurer of Utopia Home Care
Distinguished Alumnus Award:
Ernest P. Gonzalez, M.B.A. '70, president and CEO of Captree Chemical Corporation
The evening will include cocktails, dinner, dance lessons, and performance by Mambo D & La Mambrea. Tickets purchased before September 16 are $60 per person ($55 for alumni who graduated between 2000 and 2005). After September 16 and at the door, tickets are $70 per person.
