Noted Physicist and Acclaimed Author Alan Lightman Speaks on "Einstein's Dreams" at Adelphi University

Adelphi University is pleased to welcome novelist, essayist, physicist, educator, and internationally acclaimed author Alan Lightman when he speaks on campus on Wednesday, October 19, 2005. The lecture will take place at 7:00 PM. in Adelphi's Ruth S. Harley University Center, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY.
On the cusp of the centennial anniversary of Albert Einstein's Theory of Relativity, Dr. Alan Lightman, author of Einstein's Dreams, takes a fascinating look into the mind of the man whose discoveries revolutionized scientific understanding and inquiry.
An international bestseller, Einstein's Dreams has been translated into thirty languages and was runner-up for the 1994 PEN New England/Boston Globe Winship Award. Einstein's Dreams was also the March 1998 selection for National Public Radio's Talk of the Nation Book Club. The novel has been used in numerous colleges and universities, in many cases for university-wide adoptions in "common-book" programs. More than two dozen independent theatrical and musical productions have been based on Einstein's Dreams.
Dr. Lightman is an adjunct professor of humanities at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
