Adelphi University, in collaboration with partners from the nonprofit community, is pleased to host the Long Island Nonprofit Leadership Summit, "Change is Coming!" on Thursday November 10, 2005, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The summit will take place on the second floor of Adelphi’s Ruth S. Harley University Center Ballroom, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. National and local funders, nonprofit executives, and experts in nonprofit leadership will address the critical issue of the growing loss of leadership in the nonprofit sector as baby boomers retire.

The keynote panel will be moderated by Don Crocker, executive director of the Support Center for Nonprofit Management and a nationally recognized speaker and expert in leadership issues. The Long Island Leadership Panel will be moderated by Suzy Sonenberg, executive director of the Long Island Community Foundation. The day will include keynote and panel discussions as well as break out sessions focusing on emerging leadership, the role of nonprofit boards, succession planning and executive transition management.

The Long Island Nonprofit Leadership Summit has been made possible through the support of the Long Island Community Foundation, United Way of Long Island, the Support Center for Nonprofit Management, and Adelphi University School of Social Work.

A registration fee is required, which includes continental breakfast and lunch. For more information regarding the conference or to register, contact Marlene Scheer at 516.877.4343 or by email at scheer@adelphi.edu.
