Adelphi Helps Long Island Wake Up with Emergency Management Seminar Series

Through a generous $25,000 grant from the Allstate Foundation, Adelphi University is pleased to partner with the Allstate Foundation to present, "Wake Up! Long Island," an emergency management breakfast seminar series, beginning on Monday, April 16, 2007 and ending on May 29, 2007. The four-seminar series, part of Adelphi’s longstanding commitment to serving its community through projects and partnerships, is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
The September 11 and Hurricane Katrina catastrophes vividly demonstrated the need for sound emergency preparedness and management strategies. This seminar series brings together renowned emergency management experts, including Adelphi faculty, to help Long Islanders better prepare for potential emergencies. The seminars are pertinent to anyone interested in emergency preparedness issues, including business owners and professionals, legal practitioners, and health care professionals.

Health Care Management in Times of Crisis

This session will address the health care challenges and priorities that arise in times of emergencies. It will focus on the roles of health care providers and will address the services available to attendees and their families, as well as examine the contributions that all Long Islanders can make to the health care community.
