Adelphi University Selects MessageOne To Expand Its Communications Capabilities

Garden City, NY
August 13, 2007

As part of an effort to broaden its emergency notification and crisis communication channels, Adelphi University recently partnered with MessageOne. Adelphi will use MessageOne's AlertFind emergency notification system to instantly broadcast urgent messages and deliver instructions to the campus community.
With MessageOne's AlertFind service, Adelphi will be able to send notifications to students and staff using their preferred communications channels, including text or voice messages to a cell phone, home phone, and/or email. The system also allows for two-way communication, so that users can respond with any updates or requested information. AlertFind, which can tell the difference between a real person and voice mail, is able to deliver a spoken electronic or recorded message.
With more than one million users, AlertFind is a powerful crisis management and communication solution used by customers around the globe. MessageOne's AlertFind has kept more than 1,000 companies, communities and universities operating and enabled them to ensure the safety of their employees during and after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the July 2005 bombings of London's public transit system, the 2004 Southeast Asia tsunami, and the 2003 Northeast power outage.
With the implementation of this system, Adelphi will be one of the first universities in New York to deploy a comprehensive emergency notification system. "Adelphi University is strongly committed to the safety of its students, faculty, and staff," said Gene Palma, associate director of public safety and transportation and vice president of the Long Island College and University Security Consortium. "Adelphi has always been proactive in implementing state of the art technology for safety."
Students and staff will be able to update and customize their contact information via Adelphi's eCampus Web portal.
