Herricks Community Center to Host Dance Adelphi in December

Adelphi University’s Associate Professor and Dance Program Chair Frank Augustyn and Professor and Department of Performing Arts Chair Nicholas Petron are proud to present Dance Adelphi, from December 4 through December 9, 2007. All performances will be held at the Herricks Community Center, 999 Herricks Road, New Hyde Park. Tickets are free and seating is limited.
Works ranging from ballet to modern, will be featured by Adelphi faculty member Trebian Pollard, and guest choreographers Azsure Barton, Janis Brenner, and Nicholas Seligson-Ross.

Tuesday, December 4, at 7:30 PM.
Wednesday, December 5, at 6:30 PM (Discussion to follow with choreographers, designers, and dancers)
Thursday, December 6, at 7:30 PM.
Friday, December 7, at 1:00 PM and 7:30 PM (The 1:00 PM performance is appropriate for high school students, dance schools, and dance studios.)
Saturday, December 8, at 8:00 PM.
Sunday, December 9, at 2:00 PM.
All mainstage productions and dance performances for the 2007-2008 season are scheduled at Herricks Community Center. Currently under construction and due to open in fall 2008, the new 53,000 square-foot performing arts center at Adelphi’s Garden City campus will serve as a new cultural arts venue to be enjoyed by members of the Adelphi community as well as area residents. The center will include an upgrade and expansion of Adelphi's 32-year-old Olmsted Theatre, as well as a 500-seat music concert hall, dance theatre, and a state- of-the-art black box theatre. The new center will enable Adelphi to host the most sought-after artists and world-class performers as well as performances by regional middle and high school students and Adelphi students.
