Caroline Wambui Mungai Foundation Gala to Benefit Children's Homes in Kenya

A gala will be held to raise awareness and funds for the Caroline Wambui Mungai Foundation, an organization set up to establish and manage homes for disadvantaged children in Kenya, Africa, as well as offer academic awards and scholarships for qualified students in the Early Childhood Education program at Adelphi University.

Background:
The Caroline Wambui Mungai Foundation was established in December 2004 as a memorial tribute for Caroline, a graduate student in Early Childhood Education at Adelphi University, who passed away on November 10, 2004. The first CWM Home opened its doors on January 10, 2005 in Nairobi, and is currently providing shelter, education, and medical services for 43 orphans and vulnerable children between the ages of three and seven.
