Internationally Renowned Bass Vocalist Kevin Maynor to Perform at Adelphi University

Kevin Maynor, one of the world's most talented bass vocalists, will perform as part of Adelphi University's Black History Month celebration, on Sunday, February 3, 2008, at 4:30 PM in Adelphi's Ruth S. Harley University Center Ballroom, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. The event is open and free to the public.
Mr. Maynor’s concert will feature songs ranging from classical masters to contemporary settings, from the words of Malcolm X and tribute to Paul Robeson. He has scored successes in more than 40 operatic roles in five languages. He is a Fulbright Award winner and has appeared with major opera houses throughout the country in such roles as Fafner and Hagen in Wagner’s Ring, as Pimen in Mussourgsky’s Boris Godounov, and as King Philip in Verdi’s Don Carlos. He will be joined by Adelphi music faculty member Marilyn Lehman, one of Long Island’s most highly regarded pianists and a founding member of the American Chamber Ensemble.
