Capitol Steps’ Election Year Tour at Adelphi University on April 7, 2008

Garden City, NY
February 21 2008
Capitol Steps, a nationally acclaimed political satire troupe, returns to Adelphi University for a performance on Monday, April 7, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. in the University’s Ruth S. Harley University Center Ballroom, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY. The event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required. Tickets will be available to the Adelphi community on March 3 and to the public on March 6 (limit of two tickets per person).
Back by popular demand, these former Congressional staffers set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. Together, the performers have worked in a total of 18 Congressional offices and represent 62 years of staff experience. They have recorded 27 albums, including their latest, Springtime for Liberals. They have been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and can be heard four times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials. The Capitol Steps’ material is constantly being updated to include hot-button political issues, current scandals and events, presidential election news, and more. No matter who’s in the headlines, the Steps are equal opportunity offenders.
Free tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and must be picked up in advance at the PantherTainment window located on the ground floor of the Ruth S. Harley University Center. The window is open Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information about this and other events, please visit www.adelphi.edu, or call the Cultural Events Hotline at 516.877.4555.
