Economic Crisis Threatens Nonprofits, The Long Island Center for Nonprofit Leadership and Funding Community Gather to Support Those in Need

The current economic crisis is taking its toll on the entire nonprofit community. Organizations are experiencing increased demand for programs and services in this declining economy. Both corporate and private foundations face their own challenges in trying to fulfill donation and grant requests. The current crisis requires that the nonprofit community collaborate to seek survival strategies. Adelphi University’s Long Island Center for Nonprofit Leadership and many of the area corporate and private foundations* will host three community forums, from January 21 to February 2, 2009, to promote a dialogue about how best to respond to the crisis and identify opportunities to meet the needs of Long Island. Advanced registration is required. The forums will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the following locations:
