Internationally Renowned Artist Dan Welden B.A., M.A. '67 to Exhibit "Recent Works" at Adelphi University

Artist, educator, and author, Dan Welden B.A., M.A. '67 will have his talent showcased in an art exhibition of "Recent Works" held in Adelphi University’s Ruth S. Harley University Center Gallery and in the Fine Arts Exhibition Hall in the Adele and Herbert J. Klapper Center for Fine Arts, 1 South Avenue, Garden City, NY, from Monday, June 1, 2009, to Friday, July 31, 2009. A free reception and gallery talk will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2009 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Mr. Welden has had his work shown in more than 65 solo exhibitions, and is well known for his incorporation of different types of media into one coherent art form. He has directed a summer program in Florence, Italy for approximately a decade, and has traveled all across the globe, gaining inspiration while collaborating with other artists as a printmaker.
Known as one of the original "pioneers of non-toxic printmaking" following his development of the acid-free, water wash technique of solarplate etching, Mr. Welden is also co-author of
Printmaking in the Sun, and has received a Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation grant to produce a film of the same title. Mr. Welden is also applying for a National Science Foundation grant to work in Antarctica to continue making his unique contributions to the art world.
