Lori Duggan Gold joined Adelphi in 2003 as the Director of Public Affairs charged with the revitalizing of the University's public relations, government relations, and community relations programs. In June 2004, she was named Executive Director of External Relations and Assistant to the President and given added responsibility to oversee the University's alumni relations efforts. Following an 18-month strategic planning and growth period, during which the alumni relations program under her leadership experienced double-digit growth in alumni attendance, alumni relations was reestablished as a division of University Advancement when she was asked to take charge of the management and creative responsibility for the University's marketing and advertising efforts. She was named Vice President for Communications
in June 2007.
During her career at the University, she created and implemented national publicity campaigns and worked with marketing and communications teams to heighten awareness of Adelphi and its priorities. She serves as the University’s primary liaison with local, state, and federal officials and is responsible for strategic planning and counseling, issues management, legislative lobbying, and government grants and development, and is the University's representative at regional and national events.
For more than 20 years, she has provided strategic communications planning advice to not-for-profits, education companies, corporations, and government agencies. She received her baccalaureate degree in politics and metropolitan studies from New York University in 1987 and is currently pursuing a graduate certificate in emergency management at Adelphi University. |
