Matriculation Ceremony and Welcome Events

Adelphi University invites and encourages parents to attend the Matriculation Ceremony.

During this time honored ceremony, members of the Adelphi Board of Trustees, senior administration and faculty welcome freshmen to the Adelphi community of scholars.

The ceremony marks the formal entry of the Class of 2018 as enrolled candidates for the baccalaureate degree. The president of the University admits the freshmen, and encourages students to pursue full development of their intellect, judgment and personal potential. The platform party, as well as the University’s faculty, process in academic attire, which echoes the formal ceremony of Commencement, the event that marks the student’s completion of the academic degree.

All freshmen must attend, and we certainly encourage parents to also join us for this ceremony. Parents in previous years have commented on how special this program is, and we look forward that on September 2, parents and students of the Class of 2018 will experience this special event.
