Let the Future Commence
Members of the Class of 2008 are now part of the vast Adelphi alumni family, after receiving their degrees on Monday, May 19, 2008 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. Doctorate degrees were awarded at a separate ceremony on Sunday, May 18, 2008. Adelphi President Robert A. Scott delivered an inspiring Commencement address (PDF 132KB), based on philosopher Emmanuel Kant’s universal values. Honorary doctorate degrees were awarded to financial executive Lon Gorman, philanthropist Adele C. Smithers, and choreographer Paul Taylor for their outstanding contributions to their respective fields.

RENT: From Broadway to Adelphi's New Performing Arts Center
When one curtain falls, another inevitably rises. This fall, the curtain will rise on RENT, fresh from its Broadway close, to kick off the inaugural season in Adelphi's new Performing Arts Center. A slew of aspiring leading ladies and gents flocked to Post Hall recently for the RENT open casting for Adelphi students and alumni. View shots of the electrifying auditions. Women's Lax: The Panthers Will Rise Again
Adelphi women's lacrosse faced off against the C.W. Post Pioneers for the national title in the North Region Semi-Final match of the Division II National Championships Festival in Houston, TX. Although they succumbed to the Pioneers, the Panthers ended their season with an overall score of 16-1.
