The Class of 2013 Has Arrived
Adelphi welcomed the Class of 2013 at Matriculation on Friday, August 28, 2009. The class is Adelphi's largest ever at 968 students, pared down from 7,348 applicants (a seven percent increase from last year). Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Gayle D. Insler welcomed the new students and their families to the extended Adelphi family and set high standards for their educational futures.
"I want you to establish goals for yourself that are intellectually greater, socially and personally important, and very much reach beyond you as an individual," Provost Insler said. She then stated her top three tips for college: "be present," "be intellectually adventurous," and "connect the dots."
