"I favor McCain. I just think he'll do better with the economy and the war in Iraq than Obama. Those are the two biggest issues for me." |

"My political background is very conservative, but I will be voting for Barack Obama. I personally think that McCain will want to go to war with Iran. I also disagree with the way he would handle the economic crisis." |

"Obama! Well, I'm part of the Democratic Party and stand for its ideals. I like [Obama’s] social policy and think he would do better with foreign policy. Those are my main views." |

"Obama. I guess he has better plans, he's younger, and he's smarter than McCain." |

"I started off liking McCain, but then I started watching the debates and switched to Obama. Especially at the Hofstra debate, McCain was just going after Obama without telling me, 'What are you going to do?'" |

After years of mounting anticipation, the new buildings are finally open at Adelphi! We asked those whose opinion matters most, the students, faculty, and staff who use the new Performing Arts Center and Center for Recreation and Sports, complete with its new underground parking garage, for their take on the new facilities.

"The Performing Arts Center is our new home. We used to be spread all over the campus, but now we’re all in the same building with such a familiar aura to it. After all the construction and anticipation, it’s nice to finally be here." |

Rosanne Clemen
Department of Music Administrative Assistant
"This is my favorite spot. I didn't used to have windows in my office in Post Hall, but now I can sit and watch the rain come down. This building is evidence that the University is growing in leaps and bounds, and incoming students are really impressed by these facilities." |

David Lubell
Professor, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
"What's not to like [about the new parking garage]? It's wonderful. So far, I've always been able to find a space, and the parking spots are generous enough that you don't have to worry about scratching the car of the person next to you. I can come in on one side and rush through to the other side to get to class on time. It hasn't rained yet, but I imagine when it does it will be really nice to have this option." |
