Adelphi’s National Preparedness Challenge

The hurricanes of 2017 reminded us all of not just the importance but also the necessity of being prepared to protect the health of your family until help arrives.

This September, the CDC Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response (PHPR) wants to remind people of The Power of Preparedness and that it takes everyone “pulling in the same direction” to build communities and a nation that can withstand, adapt to, and recover from complex public health challenges.

This year’s call-to-action is Prepare Your Health (#PrepYourHealth). There are four weekly themes highlighting the roles individuals, state and local public health, and CDC play in creating resilient health communities.

The first annual Adelphi’s National Preparedness Challenge will help you learn the about the various ways you can prepare yourself to respond in an emergency. Every day, on the AUMPHSTUDENTS Instagram, a daily photo will be posted. This post will suggest a challenge for participants to try to complete by the end of the day. For every post, limited to one post per day, a participant will earn one raffle into the drawing of a weekly prize, totaling seven posts per week. At the end of the four-week challenge, there will be a grand prize drawing.

How to Participate:

  1. In order to participate, you must register through the Google Form. By providing us with your Instagram Username, we will be able to track your daily posts.
  2. You must follow AUMPHSTUDENTS account for us to follow you back and track your progress. 3. When posting to complete the daily challenges, be sure to use both tags, ##NatlPrep, and #AUMPH.
  3. After posting, we will mark your post, by “liking/hearting” the post. This will verify that your post has been counted.
  4.  At the end of the week, Saturdays, check out our Instagram, AUMPHSTUDENTS, for the announcement of the weekly prize winners.
