About the Speaker

Stephen J. Harkins, M.B.A. ’86, is currently Vice President PMO Head for Global Information Services at Estee Leauder Companies. He is responsible for the planning and execution of all IT programs and initiatives in support of ELC strategic and tactical business objectives in partnership with senior IT and business stakeholders. He joined Estee Leauder Companies in September 2015.

Prior to joining ELC, Harkins served at Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank, Citigroup, JPMorganChase, and National Westminster Bancorp leading major business transformation and M&A initiatives in roles of increasing responsibility. Assignments included multi-year international stints in South Korea and Germany leading business and IT integration of acquired banks and standardization of core retail banking platforms in Asia and Europe. 

Harkins began his career in 1981 at Grumman Aerospace Corporation as a Senior Systems Engineer in the firm’s Integrated Logistics Support Area.

Harkins earned a B.A. in Computer Science with a Minor in Economics from the State University of New York, and a M.B.A in Finance from Adelphi University Robert B. Willumstad School of Business, Garden City, New York.

The Leadership Certificate Program is an interdepartmental initiative hosted by the Center for Career and Professional Development, the Center for Student Involvement, the Office of Alumni Relations and the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.

Its goal is to offer Adelphi undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to develop leadership and professional skills. Participants are able to attend workshops on a wide variety of topics during the course of the year. 

Requirements for Students

To participate in the Leadership Certificate Program, you must RSVP for a minimum of six events. Each student must complete the workshops within the academic year. Events are added throughout the year.
