Campus Climate Crusade


Get informed about the very real challenges facing the U.S. and the world at the Campus Climate Crusade. Meet local organizations where you might intern or volunteer and join new sustainability efforts at Adelphi!

Drop in for 30 minutes or stay 3 hours!


Highlights Include:

  • A presentation by Operation Splash about watershed Issues related to sea level rise, salt water intrusion into our aquifers and infrastructure design of LI at 1:00
  • An overview of climate change by our own Beth Christensen, Director of Environmental Studies at AU and researcher in climate and sea-level change at 1:30
  • A presentation about green energy production on our own campus at 2:00
  • Faculty and students talking about public transit and veganism at 2:30 
  • 2 consecutive showings of Before the Flood followed by a Q&A with our own Brian Wygal, Anthropology Department beginning at 12:30
  • Tables with information about an organic local farm, Sustainable Long Island, the problems with on-campus recycling efforts and a new recycling challenge for res halls (with a prize)
  • Free “green” stuff in a free (no cost) raffle
