Room to Be Announced

A Case Supervision/Study Group Seminar Exclusively for School Psychologists and School Social Workers—2019

Presented by Adelphi University’s Postgraduate Program in Psychodynamic School Psychology.

15 CE credits upon completion of the 10-session program.

This seminar, with new case material and discussion topics for 2019, enables school psychologists and school social workers to expand their clinical skills by applying a practical, relevant psychodynamic perspective to their work in the schools. A focus will be on case material presented by the participants. Meaningful and practical readings and classroom discussions will be introduced. The series also provides a supportive, collegial atmosphere that encourages personal development and professional growth.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Assess the emotional meaning of a student’s behavior and use this information to guide classroom interventions.
  • Apply enhanced individual and group counseling skills.
  • Conduct effective consultations with teachers, parents and administrators.
  • Create school-based programs that foster the growth of self-esteem in students and in faculty members.
