*The annual “I Support Her” initiative raises funds for the “Girls Be Ambitious” organization, supporting the education of four girls in rural Cambodia. FYS students research the issue, make a presentation to the class, and conduct an advocacy fundraiser as their final project for the course. This year they need to raise $720 in four hours, hence why it is called the $3-minute fundraiser. Stop by the UC lobby to help them meet this goal!

Several other FYS classes are actively supporting their classmates through their participation and engagement.

Involved FYS classes include:

  • Becoming Human
  • Community, Love and Justice
  • Arts and Social Change
  • Radical Culture: NYC 2013
  • Getting Lost at Adelphi: Learning as Wayfaring
  • Multilingualism in Schools and Society
  • History, Herstory, and Yourstory
  • History of Global Spirituality
  • Intro to Art Education and Design (not FYS)

Sponsored by The General Education and Levermore Global Scholars Programs, Collaboration Project, Department of Sociology, the BFA in Art & Design Education, and Adelphi Dining Services
