Community STEAM Workshop: E-Textiles—Bringing Together Crafts and Electronics

Want to add bling to your wardrobe? Light to your jewelry? Join us as we learn to sew electric with conductive thread and LED lights. For those who are interested, we will also incorporate the LilyTiny, a small, sewable, washable microprocessor. No experience necessary just a willingness to have fun, make mistakes and learn!

The STEAM Lab is a DIY collaborative learning and making lab where the community is invited to explore, tinker, create, and invent using a variety of tools and materials. Interdisciplinary by design, engagement in the space aims to support existing and emerging research and creative endeavors of students, faculty, administration and staff.

Have an idea for a workshop? We want to hear it! Contact Acting Associate Dean, Cindy Maguire at ext. 4049 or
