CORE: Creating Ongoing Respect and Equity Training

The CORE curriculum provides participants with a theoretical foundation for social justice education. Workshops will touch upon a variety of topics that address cultural similarities and differences, race, ethnicity, class, gender, identity development, stereotypes, communicating across boundaries, and social issues. Participants are asked to stay for the entire training.

Presenter Bio

Jason Spradley is an assistant director in the Center for Student Involvement. He is in charge of organizing programs and trainings that cover diversity and inclusion on Adelphi’s campus. Spradley also oversees civic engagement for CSI, making sure Adelphi students have multiple opportunities to give back to the world around them. He received his B.A. in communication studies from Texas State University and M.A. in rhetoric and performance studies, with a focus on race and gender from Hofstra.

Leadership Certificate Program LogoAbout the Leadership Certificate Program

The Leadership Certificate Program is an interdepartmental initiative hosted by the Center for Career and Professional Development, the Center for Student Involvement, the Office of Alumni Relations and the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business.

Its goal is to offer Adelphi undergraduate and graduate students opportunities to develop leadership and professional skills. Participants are able to attend workshops on a wide variety of topics during the course of the year. 

Requirements for Students

To participate in the Leadership Certificate Program, you must RSVP for a minimum of six events. Each student must complete the workshops within the academic year. Events are added throughout the year.
