Diversity Campus Tour

Join the Office of Diversity & Inclusion for a Diversity Campus Tour. Members of Adelphi’s community are invited to tour our Garden City campus and reflect on the ways in which our various communities and physical spaces reflect our commitment to advancing diversity.

Participants will tour the campus in small groups, and discuss the ways in which we’re currently succeeding—and the areas in which we need to improve—in creating a space where all students, faculty, staff and guests of Adelphi feel welcomed, represented and respected.

Participants will gather in the Ruth S. Harley University Center for a welcome and overview of the tour route and schedule. Each group will receive a suggested tour route. Groups will conduct their tours at their own pace, visiting tour stops in whatever order they choose. Participants are welcome to make observations on additional spaces and communities not included on the suggested routes.

The full group will reconvene at the end of the event for refreshments and a debrief discussion. Participants will share their observations, and we will discuss potential next steps to continue to improve our campus climate.

Finally, participants will be asked to complete a brief evaluation to summarize their experience and provide key observations and takeaways.
