Facilitating Active Engagement Through Play-based Learning in University Classes

Presented by: Heather Waters, Coordinator of Music Education

Wondering how to engage students or reimagine your course to include “creative thinking?” This workshop will introduce methods for building learning environments that promote creativity and critical thinking skills through playful learning. Activities will focus on the benefits of play-based learning (for adults), ways play-based learning addresses diverse learning needs, and strategies to address challenges incorporating play-based learning into university classes (that are often highly structured with very specific content and learning outcomes).
